J.D. Drew’s lead-off home run in the bottom of the 9th broke a 2-2 tie and gave the Cardinals a 3-2 win over the Astros. Miguel Cairo and Albert Pujols accounted for St. Louis’s two other RBI’s. Darryl Kile allowed two runs over six innings and was not a part of the decision. Dave Veres was the winner, finishing the 8th and 9th innings. Veres also kicked a possible hit by Brian Hunter, picked the ball up and threw him out for the third out of the 9th. St. Louis and Houston finish the series with a 12:10 game. The Cards have won four in a row.
