The Cardinals find themselves just three games out of first place in the N.L. Central after last night’s 7-3 win over the Reds. Woody Williams got the start and the win, his first. Williams went six innings, allowing no runs off five hits and five strikeouts. His ERA dropped to 0.64. Tino Martinez was 2-3 with two RBI’s. Jim Edmonds hit his 10th homer of the year, and Albert Pujols hit his 7th round-tripper…Short stop Edgar Renteria had to leave last night’s contest with an abdominal strain. He’s expected to be out of the lineup for a few days.
