May 17, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

One of Missouri’s rising political parties holds its state convention this weekend in Jefferson City. The Libertarians are heading to town. The convention officially kicks off tomorrow morning with delegatesmeeting and hearing from Libertarians running for Missouri’s U.S. Congressional and Senate seats and candidates for State Senate and House seats. Greg Tlapek, the party’s Executive Director, says party members willbe there but outsiders are invited, as well. Tlapek says Libertarians offer what they feel are better options thanthose being offered by Democrats and Republicans. Among the highlights – a presentation from the Libertarian Party’s only elected official in Missouri – Chillicothe Mayor Jeff Foli. He’s now running for State Representative.
