State Ag Director Praises Farm Bill

May 16, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

State Agriculture Director Lowell Mohler says the newly signed 2002 Farm Bill will help the state’s farmers by making their products worth more and preserving land for the future. Mohler says some have criticized the program with its $190-Billion price tag as too pricey and just welfare for farmers. Mohler says 40 percent of the program goes to the food stamps while other money goes to help keep food in grocery stores more affordable.
