A lot of roads and highways are under water today after heavy weekend rains. The National Weather Service says the rain should let up today, although they might be back in some places later in the week. Southwest Missouri has a lot of flooding. Joplin reported a record for rainfall on a May 12th – 1.43 inches, a tenth more than fell on May 12th, 1972. Some parts of the state had high winds in addition to heavy rain and hail. In Desloge, in eastern Missouri, some roofs have been torn off. At least one business is reported heavily damaged.
