Two people from Vandalia are accused of crushing a security guard to death when the guard tried to restrain a suspected shoplifter in St. Peters. Police say Angie Crenshaw was suspecsted of stealing 15 packages of adecongestant that contains an ingredient used to make methamphetamine. Investigators say her boyfriend, Johnny Barclay, used his pickup truck to pin security guard John Toppett against a wall. Barclay and Crenshaw were arrested after a chase that saw their truck go across a farmer’s field and crash into an above ground swimming pool.
