House rejection of his bid to dip into the Rainy Day Fund has resulted in further cuts from Governor Holden. Holden says he’s being forced to furlough 6,000 state workers for two days during the June 1st to 15th payperiod. And, he says the final two payments to state colleges and universities for the current Fiscal Year will be withheld. He puts the blame squarely on the shoulders of House Republican Leader Catherine Hanaway. Holden says, however, there will be no money withheld from elementaryand secondary schools.
