Stadium Bill Moves Forward

May 9, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

The $644-Million dollar stadium bill has cleared another legislative hurdle, passing the House Commerce and Economic Development Committee by a vote of 11-9. The bill, which has already cleared the Senate, now goes to the full House. The legislation includes money for a new baseball stadium for downtown St. Louis and for renovations to Arrowhead and Kauffman Stadiums in Kansas City. House Speaker Jim Kreider of Nixa has said the stadium bill will be discussed, but is not one of his priorities, so it has not been placed on the debate calendar.
