Bills aimed at helping the state deal with its budget crunch are making their way through the Legislature, but there is still disagreement over one of the most contentious issues – dipping into the Rainy Day Fund. Governor Bob Holden insists the state must dip into the Rainy Day Fund. The Senate is going along with that idea, but in the House, Holden says Republican Leader Catherine Hanaway of Warson Woods is standing in the way. Hanaway rejects suggestions she’s standing in the way of Republicanswho want to support the idea. She says everyone in the party can exercise his or her will on the matter.
