Maddux Frustrates Cards

May 6, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Greg Maddux threw only 65 pitches to the Cardinals over six innings allowing just four hits, as Atlanta topped St. Louis 4-2 yesterday. Cardinal starter Darryl Kile went six innings as well allowing three runs off nine hits. He got the loss, dropping to 1-2. It was 4-0 before the Redbirds got on the board with a run in the eighth and another in the ninth. That’s all the runs they’d score in the loss. The Cardinals will be in Chicago tonight to face the Cubs.
