Half Dozen Isn’t Enough For Cards

May 3, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Despite building an early 6-0 lead, the Cardinals didn’t have enough to stop the Marlins, losing 9-6 Thursday afternoon. St. Louis scored five runs in the first inning. But Cliff Floyd burned Cardinal pitchers again. He hit a two-run homer in the third. In the eighth, he drove in another run and scored as Florida took the lead. Dave Veres got the loss in relief. The Cardinals welcome the Braves to town tonight.
