SMS Assistants Leave

May 1, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Lynette Robinson and Karen Rapier have decided to resign from their positions as assistant basketball coaches for the SMS Lady Bears. Robinson, who spent fifteen years on Cheryl Burnett’s staff already indicated that she wasn’t interested in the head coaching job in Springfield. It’s a different story for Rapier. She’s quitting to test the market, and says she still wants her old boss’s job. Both say their departure has nothing to do with Burnett’s meeting with the University of Minnesota over the weekend. On April 22nd, Cheryl Burnett stepped down at SMS.
