A disagreement about how best to market Missouri farm products dooms an agriculture bill in the House. Representative Peter Myers of Sikeston leads opposition to the bill, because it would create a marketing commission to consider if the AgriMissouri marketing campaign begun in 1985 should be replaced. House Agriculture Committee Chairman Sam Berkowitz of Memphis fails to convince him to back it. Supporters say they will try to revive the bill, because it would promote products from family farms and the growing number of organice farms in Missouri.
