The Royals finished off their homestand with a 13-0 loss to the Orioles yesterday. Baltimore scored in every inning except the first and ninth. Bryan Rekar was the starter for Kansas City. He got the loss in three innings of work. The Orioles swept the three-game series. The Royals are now 7-15. After reaching a record of 4-4, Kansas City has dropped 11 of 14, leading to more speculation as to how long manager Tony Muser will be employed. Owner David Glass, who has been an ardent supporter of Muser, won’t comment on his manager’s job security. Muser has planned a team meeting today. First baseman Mike Sweeny blames his teammates. Sweeny blasted them after yesterday’s game saying they don’t act like they care. With or without Muser, the Royals head to Detroit for tonight’s 6:05 start.
