The Cardinals managed just two runs off ten hits losing to the Expos 5-2 on Sunday. Matt Morris, who started 4-0, got the loss allowing all five Expo runs. He’s now 4-2 on the season. Vladimir Guerrero hit two home runs off Morris yesterday. The Redbirds were down 5-0 before scoring runs in the seventh and eighth innings. Jim Edmonds and Fernando Vina got the RBI’s. St. Louis finished their thirteen-game road trip with a 4-9 record. They’re off today, tomorrow they face the Marlins for the first of three….There may be some good news for the Redbirds beleagured pitching staff. The Cardinals aren’t giving a specific time period, but they say Woody Williams has begun throwing again and could be ready by June 1st. He has a strained abdominal muscle. Fellow DL’er Garret Stephenson may be ready to pitch again Wednesday. He’s had recurring back spasms.
