Today is the first day of the regular turkey hunting season in Missouri. Missouri hunters are donning full camoflauge today as they take to the timbers and hollers in pursuit of one of the wariest game animals out there: wild turkey. In recent past seasons, some hunters have worried the vegetation the birds like to feed on got green too soon before the season opened. Conservation Department officials say the record number of turkeys taken during the youth-only season April 13th and 14th should not affect theregular season that concludes in mid-May.
