The Kansas City Chiefs had just five picks in this year’s draft and used four of them to grab help on defense. With their first pick on Saturday, they traded up from the sixth spot to the eighth spot with Dallas to grab defensive tackle Ryan Sims of North Carolina. Sims was All-ACC and received an honorable mention on the All-American team. He had 51 tackles and five sacks as a senior, often over-shadowed by teammate Julius Peppers. Kansas City took fellow DT Eddie Freeman of Alabama-Birmingham with the second pick, and fullback Omar Easy from Penn St, with their final selection on Saturday. On Sunday, they took two outside linebackers, Scott Fujita of California and Maurice Rodriguez of Fresno St.
