Blues Blank Blackhawks in Blowout

April 22, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

The Blues were in no mood for a close game. Jamal Mayers goal at the 1:48 mark of the first period got things going as St. Louis topped Chicago 4-0 in Game 3 of their best-of-seven first round series. Later on in the period, Scott Mellanby scored on a power play chance. The Blues got goals from Pavol Demitra and Scott Young in the third period. Keith Tkachuk had two assists. In goal, Brent Johnson stopped all twelve shots he faced for his second straight shut out. The Blues lead two games to one. Game 4 is Tuesday in Chicago.
