Kansas City’s school district might have avoided a state takeover. State Education Commissioner Kent King says the district has made enough progress to be granted provisional accreditation. The State Board of Education will decide whether to grant it tomorrow. The District meets four of 11 accreditation standards. When the statetook away its accreditation, it met none of the standards. The Kansas City District has been the only unaccredited district in Missouri. It’s the state’s largest school district.
