Pronger Suspended

April 5, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

The St. Louis Blues will be without their captain for the next two games. Defenseman Chris Pronger has been suspended for games against Chicago and Colorado, because of a cross-check against Brenden Morrow of Dallas Wednesday. He’s also been fined more than $231,000. The loss of Pronger comes as the Blues try to squeak into the playoffs. Their win over Dallas Wednesday had made that more likely, giving them a 4-point edge over the Stars and Vancouver Canucks. Those 2 teams would be the last to miss the playoffs if the season ended today.
