Wide receiver Ricky Proehl will be back with the Rams last season. Proehl isn’t the fastest or best receiver in St. Louis, but he’s been in the system since 1998, and is familiar with the complex offense employed by coach Mike Martz. He’ll make $775,000 next year, including a $25,000 signing bonus. Proehl is best-known for catching the lone touchdown pass in an 11-6 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 1999 NFC Championship game. Coach Mike Martz says he’s still looking at free agents to fill out the receiving corps, but Martz denies rumors that the team is looking to trade Torry Holt. He calls those rumors “ludicrous.”
