Environmentalists Criticize Mall Plan Near St. Charles

April 2, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

A lawsuit charges the Army Corps of Engineers has violated several laws by giving developers permits to build a huge mall in the floodplain near St. Charles. The Missouri Coalition for the Environment says the mall also would destroy 29 acres of wetlands. A warehouse already is going up on the site, and developers hope for groundbreaking on a 200-store mall soon.
