Insurance Company Rejects Responsibility In Courtney Case

March 19, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

The company that provided insurance for Kansas City pharmacist Robert Courtney and for his drug stores says it is not responsible to Courtney’s victims and should not have to pay them any damages. Courtney has pleaded guilty to charges that he watered down chemotherapy drugs. The Pharmacists Mutual Companies, based in Iowa, says none of the policies it had with Courtney included damage payments for criminal acts. More than 200 people have sued Courtney. An attorney for some of them says he’s confident the courts will require the insurance company to pay anyjudgments awarded.
