Contamination Warning For Water Issued In Jefferson County

Eighteen homeowners living hear an abandoned nuclear fuel plant in Jefferson County have been warned that their drinking water might be contaminated. Westinghouse Electric owns the property now. It says two chemicalsused as cleaning agents in the old factory near Hematitite have showed up in a well tested last week, south of the plant site. Contaminants also have been found in a well north of the plant. The State Health Department will run more tests next week.
