Missourians Owed Tens Of Millions Of Tax Dollars

March 18, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

About 34,000 Missourians are owed approximately $38-million from Uncle Sam because they never filed income tax returns for 1998. Anyone owed the refund money can claim it, provided a return is filed by April 15th. Janice Lawrence of the Internal Revenue Service in St. Louis says there are several reasons this money has not been claimed. First and foremost, people owed the money never filed for 1998. The amount owed in Missouri is a fraction of what is owed from 1998 across the country. It totals more than $2.3-Billion.
