Internet Porn Bill Moves Forward In Senate

An effort to protect children from Internet pornography moves forward in the State Senate. The chamber has given preliminary approval to a bill that would require public libraries to take steps to safeguard children fromporn on the web. Senator Bill Kenney of Lee’s Sumit, the sponsor, says public schools would have to install filtering software on computers. The Senate approved the measure, despite concerns raised about how thelegislation might infringe on free speech guarantees.
