The State Senate has taken an important step in effort to repeal the sunset on the 6-cent gas tax. It’s given preliminary approval to the idea. Senator Morris Westfall of Halfway, the Sponsor of the legislation, says this would give the Department of Transportation more money to fundnecessary projects. The 6-cent gas tax was imposed in 1992. The bill must go through another Senate vote before it can be sent to the House.
