St. Louis Archdiocese Refuses To Remove Priest

March 6, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

The St. Louis Archdiocese, which made a secret settlement seven years ago with two brothers who claimed a priest had molested them as boys, says it will not remove the priest from his present pastorate. One of the brothers has gone public with the case, although he had agreed to keep the agreement with the Archdiocese confidential. JohnScorfina says he has broken his silence because the Archdiocese has broken its promise to remove the Father Leroy Valentine from any ministry that has access to children. The Archdiocese says it constinues to support Valentine, who now works at a church in Florissant.
