The St. Louis Cardinals broke out the bats yesterday, beating up on Baltimore 13-4. While the offense was in top form, it was good pitching which was the key in this one. Lefthander Bud Smith picked up the win allowing just a run in three innings while righthander Garrett Stephenson continued his comeback from elbow surgery with three shutout frames. The Cardinals will split their squad today with one team playing the Dodgers and the other taking on Texas.
