Kinder Unveils Economic Development Proposal

March 1, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Senate Leader Peter Kinder of Cape Girardeau has taken the wraps off an economic development package that calls for state aid for projects in all regions of the state. The legislation provides for funding for stadium projects in St. Louis, Kansas City, and in the Springfield-Branson areas. It also allows economic development funds to be used by other communities throughout the state. Kinder says this proposal will move the economic development discussions away from an urban-versus-rural debate. He acknowledges the idea does not yet have the support of the Legislature.
