Governor Bob Holden has addressed the National Ethanol Conference, meeting in San Diego, California, calling upon states to support renewable fuel production as a way to safeguard against international instability and to protect the environment. Holden told his audience the terrorist attacks of September 11th were a grim reminder of the nation’s dependence on foreign oil and a wake-up call to place more emphasis on researching and developing alternative fuels, such as corn-based ethanol and biodiesel made from soybeans.
