Economic Development Department Concerned With Loss Of Manufacturing Jobs

February 26, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

The loss of manufacturing jobs in Missouri is causing a lot of concern at the Department of Economic Development. Statistics show the the downward trend is hitting all regions of the state. And, Economic DevelopmentDirector Joe Driskill says just about every type of manufacturing business is suffering. Driskill says the national recession is part of the problem. But he also wants officials at the national level to do more to level the trade playing field by making sure Missouri-made goods have the same access to foreign markets as foreign-made goods have to the Missouri market.
