Security Bill For Rapper Pegged At $9,000

February 18, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

It cost the state about $9,000 to provide security atthe State Capitol a couple of weeks ago when the rapper Nelly was there to get a proclamation from Governor Holden. St. Joseph Representative Charlie Shields, who demanded the Department of Public Safety give him a rundown of the costs, says Nelly got the proclamation despite song lyrics that promote drug use. Most of the costs were for 28 Highway Patrol officers sent to the Capitol for crowd control.
