Residents of Herculaneum have been urged to sign a letter from Congressman Richard Gephardt to the head of the Environmental Protection Agency, asking that the city be put on the EPA Superfund list. The listing would allow federal funds to be used for cleanup of lead contamination in the town, and possible buyouts of property. Gephardt says his first request, sent to EPA administrator Christine Todd Whitman on January 8th, has brought no response.
