West central Missouri Congressman Ike Skelton – the ranking Democrat on the U.S. House Armed Services Committee – has announced he’s running for re-election. Skelton, who has served in Congress since 1977, says he’s in good health and enjoys doing his job every day. He says waging the war on terrorism is very important for the country. But, he says the nation must also focus on other issues such as the economy, education, and preserving Social Security and Medicare.
