Johnson Earns Shutout the Easy Way

February 13, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

It doesn’t get much easier for a goalie then it did last night for Brent Johnson of the Blues. The St. Louis net-minder faced just 11 shots in earning his 8th career shutout in a 3-0 win over visiting Atlanta. The Blues scored a goal in each period as Cory Stillman, Doug Weight and Tyson Nash all lit the lamp. Not only did Johnson earn the shutout between the pipes, but he also picked up an assist on Weight’s second-period goal. It was his third point of the season. The Blues are now 26-3-2-2 this season when they score three or more goals. St. Louis will visit Colorado tonight in their final game before the Olympic break.
