The Senate Transportation Committee has approved a transportation bill that covers highways, bridges, air, rail, river and transit. It would require a vote of the people and a clear ten-year sunset for reauthorization. Governor Bob Holden says that while the bill does not reflect the entire solution to the state’s transportation problems, it is a very positive step forward. The measure will now move to the floor of the Senate where it will pass or be defeated on a straight up or down vote.
