Kansas City Mayor Kay Barnes has visited the State Capitol in Jefferson City, lobbying state lawmakers to support legislation that would benefit Kansas City’s downtown revitalization plans. Barnes says her visit to the Capitol was very well received, and she feels confident about the chances in the General Assembly. The Mayor says the package would benefit not only Kansas City, but cities and towns throughout the state by allowing them to ask for state aid in bringing depressed economic areas back to life.
