The fierce politicking in the campaign for Senator Carnahan’s U.S. Senate seat is getting into full gear. Republicans have taken the wraps off an ad campaign attacking Carnahan and four other Democrats for undermining national unity by opposing the Bush Administration’s economic stimulus plan. The ads refer to Carnahan and the others as “partisan Democrats.” The Missouri ad accuses Carnahan of “playing politics” while “America’s families
are suffering.” Missouri is the only state in which the G-O-P has bought time on both television and radio.
