Kansas City residents who are still reeling from the ice storms that battered the area have heard some welcome news from the head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Joe Allbaugh’s message to weary residents: federal government help is on the way. Allbaugh received an up close and personal look at the storm damage, seeing downed power lines, fallen trees, and damaged homes. Allbaugh says all those in the region who were without power and had to stay in hotels should get in touch with their insurance companies. He says federal aid would then be available to cover what is not taken care of by the insurance companies.
