The Environmental Protection Agency says the company that has contaminated the homes and yards of about 100 families in Herculaneum will be billed for the costs of temporary relocation of those families. The E.P.A. says it will send a bill to the Doe Run Lead Company to recover the agency’s costs. The president of Doe Run says the relocations are not needed. He says most of the children in the families being moved out don’t meet leadpoisoning standards and that homes where there are children with lead poisoning already have been cleaned up.
