St. Louis County Councilman Admits Taking Bribes

January 17, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

A St. Louis County Councilman admits he took bribes for working on an ordinance limiting the number of taxis allowed to operate at Lambert-St.Louis Airport. Robert Young IV has pleaded guilty. So has cab company manager Michael Saggio, who says he paid Young $3,000. Young says he also took another $1,500 in bribes from another cab operator. The case came to light when Saggio tried to bribe another Councilman, who went to police. Young could be sentenced to more than two years in prison.
