Good News, Bad News for Two Former Chiefs

January 14, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Former Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Elvis Grbac lead the Baltimore Ravens to a 20-3 AFC wildcard playoff win over the host Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Grbac was workmanlike in this one, completing 12 of 18 passes for 133 yards and a touchdown. Baltimore will now visit Pittsburgh in the AFC divisional playoffs on Sunday. While Grbac was advancing, former Chiefs head coach Marty Schottenheimer was getting his resume together. Schottenheimer was fired by the Washington Redskins yesterday after just one 8-8 season. The Redskins have already agreed to terms with former Florida head coach Steve Spurrier on a five-year, 25-million dollar deal to take his place. Schottenheimer went 101-58-1 as coach of the Chiefs from 1989 to 1998.
