Chiefs Lose Season Finale

January 7, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Priest Holmes rushed for 117 yards on 23 carries, but it wasn’t enough as the Kansas City Chiefs lost their season finale in Seattle 21-18. The Chiefs finish the season 6-10. The big day for Holmes on the ground allowed him to grab the NFL’s rushing title. He finishes the season with 1,555 yards. That also is a new Chiefs’ single-season record, breaking the old mark of Christian Okoye. Holmes also finishes the season as the NFL’s leader in all-purpose yardage (2,169 yards). He also sets two other Chief records in the process: most receiving yards by a Chief RB (614) and the most all-purpose yards by a Chief in a single season.
