Holstein Announces Retirement From Supreme Court

Judge John C. Holstein of Springfield has announced his retirement from the State Supreme Court, effective March 1st. Judge Holstein served more than twelve years on the Supreme Court, including a two-year term as chief justice from 1995 to 1997. Holstein had previously served as a trial judge for twelve years, beginning as a probate and magistrate judge in Howell County in 1975. Holstein has announced no specific plans after retirement from the bench but has indicated he is interested in continuing to practice law.
