Many Missourians Unaware Of Legal Limit Change

December 20, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

Missourians appear not to know the state has changed the legal limit of intoxication. Debate about the proper blood-alcohol content dominated Missouri politics during much of the past two legislative sessions, culminating in a lowering of the intoxication level from .10 to .08 blood alcohol content. But a survey by Century Council, which is funded by the alcohol industry, found only 61 percent of those asked could pinpoint the state limit. 28 states and the District of Columbia have lowered their limits to .08.
