Chiefs Deal Broncos Playoff Hopes Punishing Blow

December 17, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

Todd Peterson’s thirty-two yard field goal with 5:56 remaining in overtime gave the Kansas City Chiefs a 26-23 win over the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. Peterson’s game-winning kick was his fourth field goal of the day and it made up for a missed 41-yarder earlier in the overtime. Once again for Kansas City the story was Priest Holmes. The Chiefs running back rushed 29 times for 121 yards and a touchdown in the win. Kansas City improves to 4-9 on the season with the win and they are now 2-5 at home.
