Congress Pushes Change To College Tax Credit

December 11, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

A technical change to a couple of college-based tax credits is being pushed in Congress as a means of providing financial relief for colleges and universities. Northeast Missouri Congressman Kenny Hulshof backs the changes to the HOPE Scholarships and the Lifetime Learning tax credits. He reminds colleagues during House debate in Washington that college officials warned f the increased administrative burden the two tax credits would create. He says Congress failed to listen then and needs to listen now.
