Missouri Republican Party Chairman Ann Wagner, the Co-Chairman of the Republican National Committee, is being mentioned as a possible replacement for outgoing R.N.C. Chairman Jim Gilmore, who has announced he is stepping down in mid-January. Republican Party officials in Missouri say Wagner would be a fine replacement for Gilmore, because of her experience as Co-Chairman of the national party and Chairman of the state party. Wagner is one of several Republicans rumored to be on the list of possible replacements – a list that includes former Montana Governor Marc Racicot and Oklahoma Congressman J.C. Watts.
