MoDOT Looks For More Money

November 28, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

Officials with the Missouri Department of Transportation are asking state lawmakers for more funding. MoDOT funding is about $750-Million a year. Director Henry Hungerbeeler says it will cost a billion dollars more to do what the people want done. Lawmakers have criticized Hungerbeeler for failing to provide what they consider an adequate breakdown of spending. They are also critical of Hungerbeeler’s hiring of a new communications director, Rich Hood, for $96,000 a year – a salary Hungerbeeler justifies to build better relations with legislators and the public in general.
